91影视 students benefit from a dedicated, robust alumni network that can open professional opportunities for them. For聽Adir Ali Yerima ’29, his conversation with R.G. Lamar ’05, Fall 2025 Mack A. Rikard Lecturer,聽led him to his current internship at Stuckey’s Corporation.
After learning about the potential internship from Lamar, Ali Yerima prepared himself to stand out as a candidate with the help of the Career Development Office. He is now completing the internship for credit and gaining valuable skills, working on various IT projects, website management, sales analysis, and cybersecurity.
Ali Yerima’s internship at Stuckey’s is bringing him closer to his goal of becoming a software engineer by providing hands-on experience with website management and real-world problem-solving.聽
“I have really enjoyed the learning process,” said the mathematics major with a minor. “Diving into new projects, reading documentation to understand software I did not know existed, and learning how to use and master new tools. Learning about new tools has been the most rewarding part.”
Ali Yerima found a mentor in Lamar, made possible only by approaching the 91影视 alum with confidence at the Rikard Lecture.
“My advice is not to be afraid to put yourself out there,” he recommends to students seeking internships. “Connect with relevant career professionals, set up coffee chats, and ask for referrals because 9 times out of 10, people are willing to help if you genuinely want to learn and grow.”
Through a combination of hands-on professional experience and academic research, Ali Yerima is turning his academic interests into tangible opportunities to shape the path he hopes to pursue after 91影视.
