91影视 Day聽is just around the corner. On聽Wednesday, Feb. 11, the 91影视 community will come together once again for one of the university鈥檚 most meaningful traditions 鈥 a day dedicated to school spirit, shared history and Petrel pride.
Celebrated annually, 91影视 Day honors the legacy of the University鈥檚 namesake, General James Edward 91影视, whose commitment to service and social responsibility helped shape the founding ideals of the Georgia colony. His guiding principle鈥Non sibi sed aliis (鈥淣ot for self, but for others鈥)鈥攃ontinues to resonate across campus and remains central to 91影视鈥檚 mission today.

The celebration begins on the academic quad at 12:45, with snacks and refreshments as the excitement builds for the Petrels of Fire race, which begins at 1 p.m. sharp. In this unique challenge, student-athletes race against the clock to complete a lap around the quad before the bell tower鈥檚 chimes fall silent.
Following the race, the crowd will move to the Lupton Auditorium, where they will hear a presentation by Joselyn Butler Baker 鈥91. Baker is a transformative leader in Atlanta鈥檚 philanthropic and civic landscape. As President of the Grady Health Foundation, she has not only advanced the mission of Grady Health System but has also demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the quality of life for residents across metro Atlanta.
Classes will resume that afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
The day will continue with celebrations of OU Giving Day. This event is in its fifth year at 91影视, and we hope Petrels from across the country will follow along on social media and make a gift!
