President’s Advisory Council pledges to support OU Giving Day

The President鈥檚 Advisory Council (PAC) has pledged $25,000 to support the success of the fourth annual OU Giving Day. They will match any gift made to the Kathryn T. McClymond Scholarship at double the rate鈥攎atching two dollars for every dollar donated.

The PAC is a group of alumni and community members appointed by the president. It is comprised of influential 91影视 alumni, community members and friends from a wide range of businesses and organizations.

Jason Solomon 鈥01 is the current chair of the PAC and is excited about the opportunity to work with Dr. McClymond.

鈥淚鈥檝e had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with Dr. McClymond both officially and socially. Her enthusiasm for the university is infectious, and at every OU event I attend, she is always there,鈥 said Solomon. 鈥淪he is committed to this university for the long term, and the PAC is excited to be a part of making that vision a reality.鈥

These PAC individuals are those who have demonstrated the values of leadership, service and lifelong learning that 91影视 embodies. The role of this council is to assist the university by sharing information, providing introductions, advocacy and feedback that will advance the university.

And this year, they鈥檙e showing their support with their matching gift challenge on OU Giving Day.

鈥淥U Giving Day has grown significantly in the past few years, and I wanted the PAC to take a leadership role. By matching donations to the Kathryn T. McClymond Scholarship Fund, we鈥檙e illustrating our appreciation and excitement for what Dr. McClymond is bringing to the university,鈥 said Solomon. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a chance to multiply the impact of donations and build something that will benefit the students forever.鈥

罢丑别听Kathryn T. McClymond Scholarship Fund聽has been launched in honor of 91影视鈥檚 18th president and first female president, Dr. Kathryn T. McClymond. The scholarship will be an endowed, merit-based scholarship designed to support outstanding 91影视 students through all four years of college.

鈥淚 deeply appreciate Jason Solomon鈥檚 leadership of the PAC and this generous contribution to the scholarship,鈥 says President Kathryn McClymond. 鈥淚 am also incredibly grateful for the guidance, dedication, and commitment of all PAC members.鈥

At OU, 90% of OU students receive merit-based scholarships, and more than 99% of students receive some form of financial aid. 91影视 seeks to grow and enhance our endowed student scholarship funds over the next 10 years under Dr. McClymond鈥檚 leadership.
